For Water Enthusiasts

Dillion Resevoir

The reservoir is a massive lake with nearly 27 miles of shoreline, encircled by Swan Mountain and the dramatic Gore and Ten Mile mountain ranges. The Frisco Marina and the Dillon Marina (the world’s highest deep water marina!) provide access for launching personal vessels, as well as boat rentals, SUP and kayak rentals, boat tours, slips and storage, and other marina services.  Non-motorized vessels, such as Stand Up Paddleboards (SUPs), kayaks, and canoes may launch from publicly accessible shoreline areas.  There is plenty of open water and ice fishing from the well-stocked lake.

The Blue River

In town and further out, the Blue River has outstanding fishing holes, as well as whitewater and calmer stretches which attract anglers, boaters and SUPers.

North Pond

The Pond is a sheltered body of water ideal for learning to SUP or kayak.  It is stocked with trout, features two docks, and has warmer water than nearby Dillon Reservoir.

Green Mountain Reservoir

Located about 17 miles north of Silverthorne, Green Mountain Reservoir is one of the only lakes in the area that allows people in the water. This means visitors can wakeboard, tube, waterski, and swim in addition to paddle boarding and boating.
