Fire Mitigation and Response
The Ruby Ranch community is lucky to enjoy the wilderness areas and National Forest that surround it in Colorado’s high country. The fact is that people are increasingly building homes in areas that are prone to wildfires. Property owners have an obligation to take steps to prepare and minimize the risk of fire in order to keep our community safe from wildfires.
Firewise Community Definition
The National Firewise Communities Program offers a series of practical steps (landscaping, home construction and design, community planning, etc.) that individuals and communities can take to reduce their vulnerability to wildfire.
