Fire Mitigation and Response
The Ruby Ranch community is fortunate to enjoy the surrounding wilderness areas and National Forest in Colorado’s high country. Unfortunately, wildfires can occur in these areas and Ruby Ranch property owners are committed to preparing for and minimizing the risk of, these fire in order to keep our community safe. Thanks to dedicated volunteers, Ruby Ranch has been certified as a National Firewise Community and there is significant support and guidance to homeowners for this purpose.
Firewise Community Definition
The National Firewise Communities Program offers a series of practical steps (landscaping, home construction and design, community planning, etc.) that individuals and communities can take to reduce their vulnerability to wildfire.
